Carbon Offset

We realize that flying 15,100 miles around the world causes a lot of carbon emission. Our flights to and from Japan emitted around 4.7 tons of carbon per person which is the equivalent of around 10 trees each. We took this trip in order to study environmental issues and so we would like to try to reduce our impact by offsetting this carbon. By biking and walking over 60 miles instead of driving while in Japan, we offset 0.04 tons of carbon each. We will also donate to The Nature Conservancy's Carbon offset projects in order to offset the leftover carbon.
