Shodoshima
所度島
Shodoshima is one of the largest islands in the Seto Inland Sea, just north of Takamatsu. It is famous for its olives, beautiful shrines and temples, and unique coastal features. It is home to a massive mountaintop statue of the Great Kannon, the Buddhist goddess of mercy. One can also visit Angel Road, which is a small stretch of beach that is usually submerged underwater. During low tide, one can walk the Angel Road to reach several rocky outcroppings along the water.
